Lanjarón is known for its waters and its rich gastronomy, however, in the municipality you can find master craftsmen who are experts in the use of wicker and other plant fibres for the manufacture of all kinds of everyday utensils, as well as decorative elements (baskets and hampers, armchairs, vases for taking the mineral-medicinal water at the spa, beds, bedside tables, trunks, cannons, Christmas trees, firewood racks, magazine racks... among others).
The wicker that is obtained from a bush of the willow family and that is woven to create different products, was traditionally obtained from the willow bushes that grew near the Lanjarón River.
Today you can still find these craftsmen displaying their works on the street, and visitors can buy them or simply observe the craftsman's skill in making these unique pieces.
