Cannons

In Lanjarón, cannons have a historical and symbolic value, associated both with the defence of the town and its cultural heritage. One of the best-known cannons is located at the Mirador de la Cañona, an emblematic place from which one has impressive views of the valley and the mountains of the Alpujarra. This cannon, although not functional, represents the historical resistance of Lanjarón and recalls its defensive past, especially in times of conflict. More than warlike elements, the cannons of Lanjarón are now symbols of local pride and tourist attractions that enrich the experience of visiting the municipality.
